Scanner Antenna for Radio
We use scanner antenna to catch the radio signal is specific frequency and deliver it to the antenna jack on the radio so we can listen to the radio. Scanner antenna can work for various scanner frequencies, but commonly, the antenna only work best for specific frequency. It means you need different antennas to listen to specific band perfectly. Of course, high quality wide range antenna is available. However, it is expensive and takes large space to put it on.
It becomes a big problem if you need different antennas to listen to different frequencies. It definitely cost you much if you need to buy more than one antenna. Even more, can you imagine how annoying it would be if you need to change the antenna, each time you want to change the radio frequency? It is waste your time and energy. Should you buy more radio so you can put different antenna for each radio? That’s will be cost you very much. For most people in shallow pocket, it is big problem. Somehow, it is kind of wasting your money. Not to mention, that you need large space at your home to put the radio.
Compromise is the answer. You must have your favorite band and you need antenna, which work best to the specific band and then you compromise with the others. For low cost Omni directional listening, ¼ wave-ground-plane antenna or ½-wave dipole antenna could be good enough. At least, you have a great sound from the frequency you love.
